Geotube for river dredging

Geotube is a permeable geosynthetic material made of woven high-strength polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET), specially designed for dredging projects in rivers, lakes, harbors and other waters. It is an environmentally friendly and economical solution for dredging and sludge treatment by separating silt, sediment and water efficiently through hydraulic filling technology to achieve dewatering, consolidation and stabilization of silt.

Construction Process

1. Site preparation:
- Survey the characteristics of sludge (particle size, water content), design the size and layout of geotechnical Geotube.

2. Hydraulic filling:
- Inject the silt slurry into the geopipe bag through pumping system, the permeable fiber will filter out the water quickly, and the solid particles will be retained in the bag.

3. Dewatering and consolidation:
- Natural drainage combined with gravity compression accelerates the dewatering of the silt (usually takes 1-4 weeks, depending on climatic conditions).

4. Secondary Treatment:
- After dewatering, the dried sludge can be directly landfilled and utilized for resource utilization (e.g. brick making, land reclamation).

5. Recycling and maintenance:
- Reuse the geotube bag or recycle the material according to environmental standards.
